On January 29, 2020, the Meet Up “Access to legal profession: are the opportunities equal”, jointly organized by the NAAU Gender Issues and Legal Education Committees.

The main purpose of the event was to determine how equal are the opportunities for men and women in a way to the profession and using their rights. The Managing partner Olga Prosyanyuk was a moderator and gave the floor to speakers and all participants. By the way, there were more than 50 participants to meet up.

Most participants considered that men and women have equal access to legal education and further to the choice of аprofession.

Some speakers and participants were of the view that equal access exists in the legal profession, voicing their opinion. But they need to work to achieve the balance in the prosecutor’s office and other legal professions. There is still a widespread opinion among students about male-dominated and female-dominated practices from previous “generations”. I am happy that now the desire to achieve gender equality by introducing gender policies is growing’.
