The National Congress on Mobilisation and Military Service, organised by the volunteer movement Lawyers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the support of the AVER LEX Attorneys at Law, was held on 25 June 2024.

The participants of the event discussed topical issues such as the interaction between responsible institutions to ensure the legality of the mobilisation procedure, military service, adaptation and support of veterans, coverage of sensitive topics during martial law in the media, peculiarities of bringing servicemen and women liable for military service to justice, etc.

Commenting on its relevance, AVER LEX Senior Partner Vitaliy Serdyuk noted the need to create a permanent public platform on mobilisation and military service as an effective platform for communication between government agencies, military leadership, NGOs, the legal community, the media and citizens.

One of the speakers was Oleg Ionitsoi-Dotsenko, Head of Mobilisation and Reservations at AVER LEX. He shared the problematic aspects of the booking and deferral procedure, taking into account the active adoption of regulations by various state authorities on these issues and the discrepancies in them.

The event also featured the awarding of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine’s Volunteer Movement ‘Advocates of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’ to members of the Volunteer Movement ‘Advocates of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’, which was presented by Major General Mykola Zhernov.
